
Nigeria National League (NNL) in the 2026/27 season as the second-tier league has announced Saturday, October 31, 2026, as the official kick-off date for the new campaign.
The Promise Keepers are grouped alongside Beyond Limits of Ogun, Solution FC of Awka, Smart City of Lagos, Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi, Right-2-Win of Abia, Dokkar Khairu FC of Osun, Ekiti United of Ekiti and Bayelsa United of Yenagoa in a nine-team Conference B.
The new NNL season will officially get underway with a star opening fixture between Heartland FC and Crown FC on October 31, while other Matchday One fixtures are scheduled to be played during the weekend of November 7
A total of 34 clubs have been provisionally divided into four conferences as the NNL begins preparations for another competitive season.
Conference A comprises Remo Stars, Edel FC, Godswill Akpabio, Eko United, Stormers Sporting Club, Heartland FC, Crown FC, Sunshine Stars and OYC FC.
Conference B features Akwa United, Beyond Limits, Solution FC, Smart City, Abakaliki FC, Right-2-Win, Dokkar Khairu FC, Ekiti United and Bayelsa United.
Conference C has El-Kanemi Warriors, DMD FC, FC Basira, Neurosparks FC, Kebbi United, Adamawa United, Jigawa Golden Stars and Damburan FC, while Conference D comprises Yobe Desert Warriors, Wikki Tourists, Lobi Stars, ABS FC, Sokoto United, Bichi First FC, Kada Warriors and Mighty Jets Feeders/Bida Lions.
With the proposed groupings now released, clubs are expected to intensify preparations as they look ahead to the new season.
For Akwa United, the Conference B placement sets the stage for another campaign in which the Uyo-based side will be seeking to make a strong push for promotion and return to the top flight.
The league organisers are expected to release the complete fixtures and other details ahead of the October 31 kick-off as preparations gather momentum across the participating clubs.
