AKWA UNITED DRAWN IN SOUTHERN CONFERENCE B AS NNL KICKS OFF NOVEMBER 8

Akwa United FC will begin their 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign at home against Solution FC on November 8, following the league's official resumption announcement by the organisers.

The Promise Keepers were placed in Southern Conference Group B during the NNL Annual General Meeting held in Kaduna on Tuesday 16 September, 2025.

Other teams in Group B include Rovers of Calabar, Stormers FC, First Bank, Osun United, Sporting Lagos, Dakkada, Ekiti United, and Abakaliki FC. Each team will play 18 matches (nine home and nine away).

Akwa United under the new leadership of Mr. Joseph Eno and head coach Paul Offor, the 2021 league champions will be aiming for a swift return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

This season’s NNL features 36 teams split into four groups across Southern and Northern Conferences. Group winners will secure promotion to the NPFL.

There will be a Super-4 playoffs at the end of the season among the four promoted clubs to determine which team is the NNL champions.
