Akwa United FC will take on Ekiti United FC this Sunday in a Nigeria National League (NNL) week three clash, with the Promise Keepers looking to continue their bright start to the 2025/2026 season.
The match is scheduled to hold at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, with kickoff fixed for 3pm on Sunday, 30 November, 2025.
Akwa United have begun the season in impressive form, winning both of their opening fixtures at home. They beat Solution FC 2-0 in their first match and followed up with a 1-0 win over Abakiliki FC. With full points already in the bag, Coach Paul Offor and his players will hope to extend their winning streak as they play away for the first time this season.
For Ekiti United, the campaign started with 1-0 home win over Stormmers and before a 2-1 defeat to Rovers FC on match day 2. They will face a challenging test from a confident Akwa United side.
The 2021 Nigeria Premier League champions have scored three goals and have kept clean sheets in both games while Ekiti United have scored 2 and conceded 2 in their opening two matches of the season. This fixture will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
In preparation for the fixture, Akwa United have been airlifted to Lagos by sponsors Ibom Air. The air travel is part of the partnership signed in October aimed at supporting the club’s push for promotion back to the NPFL.
