Akwa United head coach Paul Offor has described his team’s failure to secure all three points against Godswill Akpabio United as unfortunate, insisting it was a match his players should have won comfortably but for their wastefulness in front of goal.
Substitute Ndifreke Etim rescued a point for the Promise Keepers in stoppage time, scoring the equalizer after the visitors had converted a 93rd-minute penalty on Matchday 4 at the Uyo Township Stadium.
The draw leaves both Akwa United and Godswill Akpabio United on seven points each after four rounds of matches in the 2025–26 Nigeria National League season.
Speaking after the match, Coach Offor expressed disappointment over dropping “two precious points” at home but said he was pleased with his team’s overall performance.
“This match is gone, and I’m focusing on my players. I’m impressed with their performance today. The result does not reflect our effort. We played very well and created clear-cut chances, but it’s disappointing that we couldn’t take them. Our ball play is improving, and I commend my boys for fighting back to get something from the game.

He added that the team has already shifted its attention to their next fixture.
“We have to put this game behind us and focus on Wednesday’s match against Sporting Lagos. We hope to go there, give our best, and recover the points we dropped at home.”
